By: Aversa PR ** INTRO TO KIDS CIRCUS WORKSHOPS ** INTRO TO KIDS CIRCUS (Ages 5-10) Thursday, August 30 at 3:30pm and 5:00pm Friday, August 31 at 3:30pm $5 each Philadelphia School of Circus Arts presents a fun and challenging circus sampler! This one-time introductory workshop will introduce five to ten year olds to rope-climbing, trapeze, tightwire, juggling, rolling globe, plate-spinning and tumbling. The excitement begins with a demonstration by professional adult performers. Warning: Intro circus lessons have been known to cause children to want to run away and join Philadelphia’ ** FALL SESSION AT A GLANCE ** From Tuesday, September 4 through Monday, November 19, PSCA will offer 28 youth classes during an eleven-week session. Youth classes are available for children ages 18 months to 15 years. ** HIGHLIGHTED FULL SESSION COURSES ** TOTS CIRCUS (Ages 3-4) Tuesday, September 4 to Tuesday, November 13, 2012 Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:15pm-3:00pm Full Session (11 Weeks) $143 Get them started early! Bring your little circus performer to this fun and challenging class. Under the guidance of our seasoned instructors, they will be introduced to aerial rope and static trapeze. They will also learn to walk on the tightwire and juggle scarves. In this safe and supportive environment, they'll explore gross-motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and circus playtime as a group. YOUTH CIRCUS (AGES 7-10) Tuesday, September 9 to Monday, November 19, 2012 (See specific date/session range) Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays, 4:00pm-5:30pm Saturdays, 9:45-10:45am Full Session (11 Weeks) $157 Youth Circus is a great way to get your kids moving after a long day in the classroom. Seven to ten year olds are at the perfect age for learning circus skills. They are confident, enthusiastic and thrilled by new challenges. PSCA has plenty to offer them with lessons that include trapeze, tightwire, juggling, rolling globe, plate-spinning and tumbling. They'll be having so much fun, they won't even realize what great exercise and coordination development they're getting. YOUTH AERIALS LEVEL 1 (AGES 8-15) Monday, September 9 to Monday, November 19 (See specific date/session range) Mondays or Thursdays, 5:00pm-6:15pm Saturdays, 11:00am-12:15pm Full Session (11 Weeks) $228 For kids and teens ready to really train on the aerial equipment, PSCA offers the Aerials Level 1 Class. Youth lessons include static trapeze, rope, fabric and physical conditioning. Lessons feature creative ways to build upper body and core strength, while improving flexibility. They'll be having so much fun, they won't even realize what great exercise and coordination development they're getting. PRIVATE LESSONS Dates and times to be scheduled with staff $70-$150 per lesson Students looking to finally master that tumbling move or improve aerial technique can schedule private lessons with PSCA’s experienced staff. Private lessons take circus arts training to the next level through focused, one-on-one training. Faculty can customize a unique schedule to fit your child’s needs. ** PSCA YOUTH TROUPE ** YOUTH TROUPE RETURNS TO PSCA 2012-13 (AGES 8-15) Auditions: Friday, September 7, 2012, 4:30pm Full session (9 months) $132.50 Philadelphia School of Circus Arts will re-launch Youth Troupe for the 2012-13 season. PSCA will bring together advanced youth circus performers to host a unique learning experience for the youngsters, and to stage a new set of breathtaking circus performances involving youths. Meeting twice weekly, advanced juggling, unicycling and acrobatic kids will train more intensely and take on new performance opportunities.
