New SWCS High Speed Workstations
Feature New Architecture and Energy Efficiency
SWCS new open software OkamiStation workstations feature new architecture and performance enhancements that provide best-in-class design as well as high-performance components to deliver optimal performance while being energy efficient.
The best bang for the buck workstations offer nVidia GeForce GTX 600 series graphics cards and dual AMD FirePro V7900 GPUs in a CrossFireX Pro configuration which enables simultaneous visualization, rendering, and/or simulation with support for up to with monitors using AMD’s Eye-Finity.
The modernized workstations combine both the performance and stability required by professional researchers as the new architecture increases the reliability of workstations while maximizing uptime for the user.
To help offset ever increasing energy costs, the new workstations feature a low-energy computing platform for emerging system environments that enables engineers, software designers, and other compute-intensive professionals to increase productivity, minimize downtime, and reduce operational costs.
SWCS Systems found a unique demand in the market for high-quality workstations due to a growing need of less expensive workstations that could still work with a variety of both personal and business computers. Most importantly, the new unit as a variety of key innovations built into the OkamiStation product line that include liquid-cooling, flexibility and Linux optimization and the ability for units to be customized. The latter feature includes individual consultation that can result in a unit that can meet a set price target and computational necessities.
Cost reductions are possible because the units use open-hardware and open-software standards and the SWCS designs can achieve performance levels unmatched in the industry. By leveraging the AMD Opteron 3200 and 4200 series with the world’s only flexible 256-bit FPU, High-Speed Memory Interconnects with HyperTransport 3.0 Technology, and the latest 10kRPM and SSD storage drives using hardware RAID the SuSE Enterprise Linux 11 OS is more reliable.
The new SWCS Systems workstation portfolio includes:
OkamiStation 20 - Designed for professional applications that necessitate computing power greater than a standard desktop. Features include the latest low-power AMD Opteron 3280 processor, and can use either an AMD FirePro V4900 or V5900 GPU. Users can choose between either using SuSE Enterprise Linux Desktop or openSUSE running KDE. Liquid cooled and professional graphics ready with 8 processor cores, there's nothing little about this powerful micro-workstation.
OkamiStation 30 - A rock-solid powerhouse featuring the AMD Opteron 3200 series processors, the product is designed for mid-range workloads and offers a unique balance of performance and graphics scalability. With the CPU's low power consumption at only 45-65 watts, you get more performance per watt than any other workstation on the market. Users can use up to dual AMD FirePro V7900 GPUs in CrossFireX Pro configuration. With support for up to 8-Monitors using Eye-Finity exclusively from AMD, this workstation is sure to keep you users engaged.
OkamiStation 3D0 – Built for high-performance graphics computing, the product utilizes the all-new AMD-FX 4170 Quad-Core processor, which has been liquid-cooled and pushed to an astounding 5.0GHz. The use of AMD Radeon 7000 series graphics cards in CrossFireX, or nVidia GeForce GTX 600 series graphics cards in SLI makes this product perfect for users designing 3D Models, creating video content, and performing complex analytical and engineering work. For those requiring more stringent requirements, users can also upgrade to dual AMD FirePro V7900 GPUs in CrossFireX Pro configuration. With support for up to 8-Monitors using Eye-Finity exclusively from AMD, the product can be upgraded to fit any need.
OkamiStation 40 – The flagship workstation for SWCS Systems built to provide the best compute and visualization performance in the industry. The product is perfect for simulation, massive data set analysis, engineering, animation, and video. Featuring one or two 8-Core AMD Opteron 4200 series processors - either 64GB high speed or 128GB standard speed of RAM - and the latest AMD or nVidia Single-Processor GPU, the system will serve even the most demanding users without skipping a beat. Storage concerns are rendered null as the OkamiStation40 can have up to 24TB of 7200RPM 6Gb/s hard drives in RAID5, six 500GB 10,000RPM 6Gb/s hard drives (3TB total), plus two enterprise class solid state drives in RAID0 for the OS.
