“He will open a company called 1ByteTech www.1bytech.com, a non-profit one-year, intensive live lab technical training program that provides urban young adults 18-25 years of age, with a unique combination of highly technical and professional skills, vendor’s certification, such as, Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) and Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).”
“AJ Brantley explains that there is a technology and salary inequality within urban youths in Oakland CA. Most urban youth in the low income areas of Oakland CA, will not graduate from high school and have a much lower employment rate. So, through technical training they can build marketable skills that will give them a competitive edge in today’s technology market.”
When AJ Brantley developed the type of IT training programs to offer, he decided to create a program that will be set up as a real corporate office and from day one students will face real troubleshooting scenarios that happens every day in a corporate office.
“No more endless lectures on how to maintain or fix computers or networks system. Students will actually work on real trouble shooting problems and will actually retain the information from actual hands on training.”
AJ Brantley is a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) and completed his Cisco Certified Internetwork Engineer (CCIE Written) with over twenty years of IT experience. He is also currently enrolled in the Master's Degree in Entrepreneurship Program at Western Carolina University.
