Surtex 2013 Dates and Details Announced

Aug. 17, 2012 - PRLog -- Artists, designers, and licensing agencies have already begun to make plans for their involvement in Surtex 2013, the premier art licensing show of the year.

According to show management, Surtex will return to the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City from May 19-21, 2013.

More Exhibitors and More Traffic

The three-day show is expected to be larger in 2013, increasing from 273 to over 300 exhibitors, reflecting the increased activity and interest in the industry as well as increased demand for compelling artwork by companies worldwide that create consumer products for sale at retail.

With American and international licensing agents and design studios exhibiting artwork from their diverse sources, work from more than 1,000 artists and designers will be available under the same roof.

"Top-Notch Talent"

According to Penny Sikalis, Vice President of show sponsor GLM and Manager of the Surtex show, "The top-notch talent in the international design world -- textile designers, illustrators, graphic designers, art brands and fine artists, among others -- plan to exhibit at SURTEX.

"It is the one trade show where more than 6,000 representatives of manufacturers and retailers from 46 countries across the globe come to seek out the latest artwork for products for their consumer and institutional markets."

There's Something For Everyone in Manufacturing and Retail

Target markets include textile design for apparel and decorative fabrics, linens, tabletop, wall coverings and floor coverings, home decor and accessories, kitchen and dining room products, as well as giftware, stationery, greeting cards, gift-wrap and other paper products, toys, ceramics, puzzles, packaging and publishing.

The National Stationery Show is Right Next Door

Surtex attendees will also have access to the huge National Stationery Show on the same main floor of the convention center, as well as to the International Contemporary Furniture Fair.

As in prior years, the show will include an information-packed line-up of conference sessions, covering the basics of licensing through timely issues affecting the commercial aspects of art and design.

Sessions will be presented by top industry pros in the areas of art licensing, law and marketing for the art and design industry.

Art Trends and New Show Features

International forecasting professionals will share the latest news in the Trend Theatre, which launched at Surtex 2012 and is open to all exhibitors and attendees.

Vendors of software and other design-related products will exhibit their wares and services in the ReSourceHub, offering essential tools for the designer/design industry.

In 2013, a new SPACE New York show for visual merchandisers and store designers to discover the latest in unique and innovative design-driven products for retail environments will be in the line-up at the convention center.

The Premier Art Licensing Venue

Surtex 2013 will be the premier art licensing venue for American artists, manufacturers and retailers, and is the largest such show in the world.  It's not to be missed.
