AlphaOne, Amritsar celebrated the 66th Independence Day of India with the patriotic, festive and fun-loving people of Punjab on August 15, 2012. Enthusiastic visitors, revellers and shoppers actively participated in several MC led contests and events held during the 3rd Independence Day at AlphaOne that included Blood Donation Camp, Live Flag Dance & Cultural Dance Performance, Opera & Theatre Play, Art Exhibition and Patriotic Musical Show. Despite the stringent mandatory security surveillance the MC, Ms. Hargun Kaur’s enthusiastic and joyous interactions with the crowd got the contests going with fervour. Souvenirs & Appreciation memento felicitations were given to all dancers, performing groups, Lions club, Go India Foundation and others.
During the 3rd Independence Day festivities at AlphaOne, Mr. Rajendra Prasad, Centre Head, AlphaOne and Col. Mandeep Singh, AGM, AlphaOne hoisted the Flag with National Anthem, along with entire staff of AlphaOne and over 40 Retailers. This was followed by a Blood Donation Camp, in association with the NGO, Go India Foundation and Lions Club at AlphaOne, Amritsar. Hundreds of enthusiastic visitors showed their patriotism and wholeheartedly participated in the Blood Donation camp by donating their blood.
There was also live Tri-color Flag Dance by 500 children from different schools followed by group dance performance on stage organized by Showman Guru Amritsar lead by Mr. Gaurav Seth. A patriotic drama on famous legend of ‘Mirza and Sahibaa’, one of the four popular tragic romances of Punjab, was organized by Mr. Gurinder Makhna of Sai Arts at AlphaOne. There was a painting exhibition (August 13-15) organized by Mr. Brijesh Jolly with artworks of 40 best painters and artists of Amritsar being exhibited at AlphaOne. The evening culminated with a special patriotic performance by Mr. Mohinder Sohal, of Sohal Group of Arts, an institute of performing arts and culture to mark the landmark day.

As part of Independence Week’s celebrations there will be a special book launch by Bhawans School and Chinmaya Mission, Amritsar on August 18, 2012. In the evening of the 18th, there will also be Mewasi Tribal Dance and Prachin Garba performance, along with Punjabi folk dances as part of the Cross Cultural performances by 40 child artists from Gujarat and Punjab at the central atrium of AlphaOne.
The theme of the venue dressing and ambience for the Independence Day at AlphaOne was done aesthetically and in keeping with the importance of the landmark day.
