Gloria King was 65 years old.
Gloria King lived with "Type 2 Diabetes", similar to her famous father who has lived with "Type II diabetes" for over twenty years and is a high-profile spokesman in the fight against the disease, appearing in advertisements for diabetes-management products along with American Idol season 9 contestant Crystal Bowersox.
Ms. King was plagued other health issues and died Tuesday in a rehab facility in the Ft. Myers, Fl. area after battling complications of asthma, her sister Claudette said.
Claudette King, the performing sister to Gloria and youngest daughter of BB King, has suspended her current "On To Something" tour to honor her sisters memory and attend her funeral service.

Ms. Gloria King will be laid to rest, Saturday, August 18, 2012 in a private family ceremony in Florida.
