Open to the public and welcoming veterans as special guests, the August 30 Evening of Honor Opening Ceremonies will feature the Air National Guard Band of the Southwest--the “Dixieland Tailgaters”—and special performances from Cabrillo Music Theatre, the Talent Lab and more. Kevin Bracy will be the keynote motivational speaker and Deacon Pat Coulter will serve as master of ceremonies. More than 1000 football athletes and cheerleaders will be participating in the two-day football invitational that will feature 12 teams from both Northern and Southern California. The event will include a Military Expo with parachute jumps and Condor flyovers adding to the excitement of the game days. Oaks Christian (junior varsity) will play Westlake High (junior varsity) on September 1 at 2 p.m. and Oaks Christian (varsity) will play Granite Bay (varsity) later that same day at 7:30 p.m. The public is encouraged to purchase a “Special Two for One” ticket of $25. Tickets will also be sold at Oaks Christian School at both the high school and middle school reception desks on August 27, 28 and 29 during the school hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
