Pioneer Valley Educational Press Talks Engaging Stories for Kids on “The Balancing Act” on Lifetime TV
Lovable characters and interesting storylines help engage child early on in reading books; fosters future joy of learning
(Pompano Beach, FL – August 16, 2012) Pioneer Valley Educational Press, Inc. will be featured on the popular women’s empowerment show “The Balancing Act™” on Lifetime TV on Tuesday, August 21st at 7 am (ET/PT). Dr. Michele Dufresne, author and literacy consultant for Pioneer and Robert Monson, past President of the National Association of Elementary School Principals, are the featured guests on an episode airing as part of the Parent Teacher Corner series.
Pioneer Valley focuses on publishing high quality books and educational resources for the beginning reader, from K-2. Dr. Dufresne communicates to viewers simple, yet powerful ideas about how children learn to read, what concrete steps parents can take to support their child’s love for reading, and the availability of literacy tools to support their child.
Dr. Dufresne and Monson emphasis the importance of engaging your child in authentic reading every day, selecting books that are at the right level for your child and making reading a positive and motivating experience. Books should have engaging storylines, lovable characters and interesting information. Pioneer canine “stars”, Bella and Rosie, pay a visit to the set as well.
“We’re thrilled to have Dr. Dufresne and Robert Monson on “The Balancing Act” to talk to viewers about Pioneer Valley Books and how parents can instill a love of learning at an early age in their children to provide a solid foundation for their future,” says Doug Campbell, Founder and Executive VP of Programming, “The Balancing Act.”
