Cendrine Marrouat Announces New Workshops for Fall 2012

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug. 16, 2012 - Cendrine Marrouat, a social media blogger and digital journalist living in Winnipeg, will facilitate several social media workshops in September and October. These workshops follow a successful series that she taught earlier this year.

“Introduction to Blogging,” on September 7, will explore blogging through its history, myths, and major platforms. Participants will also learn how to  avoid important mistakes and write blog articles that get read.

The aim of “Introduction to Pinterest,” on September 14, is to help businesses, entrepreneurs and artists understand Pinterest’s basics and use the social network to their advantage. Marrouat will also share some of the best third-party tools and tips to leverage the platform.  

“Introduction to Social Media,” on September 17, will explore and discuss social media and some key terms used in the field, while offering participants answers to their most pressing questions  (e.g. Where do I start? How much will it cost me? What are some common mistakes that I should avoid?).

In “Social Media for Writers and Musicians,” on September 19, artists will learn more about the concepts of ‘brand’, ‘niche’ and ‘engagement’, and how to create and customize a blog and/or website. They will also discover tips and tricks allowing them to attract quality traffic to their pages.

“Social Media for Entrepreneurs,” on October 18, will explore the concepts of ‘social media strategy’, ‘branding’ and ‘engagement’. Participants will gain an understanding of the specifics of each major social network in order to create an efficient social media strategy. They will also learn how to avoid common pitfalls when promoting their product/service online and how to monitor their online presence with free tools.

In “Introduction to Major Social Networks,”  on October 29, Marrouat will discuss the major differences between Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn and YouTube, while focusing on what makes each unique. She will also help participants leverage social networks by avoiding some major mistakes.

Seating for each workshop is limited. Interested participants should register in advance to secure their spots.
