PRLog - Aug. 15, 2012 - Hide Folders 2012 protects with password files and folders, makes them inaccessible and invisible. Protected folders and files cannot be accessed by unauthorized users, either locally or over the net.
"Hide Folders 2012 is a successor of award-winning Hide Folders 2009," says Michael Karsyan, CEO of FSPro Labs. "In this release we combined power of Hide Folders 2009 with simplicity of My Lockbox, so now even a novice user can control access to private data without any problems".
Hide Folders 2012 can easily protect unlimited number of folders and files on a PC at the same time. The program has several protection methods:
"Hide" - the protected file or folder invisible to user; however, it still can be accessed if user knows the full path to the object. This feature is essential if user wants to hide application folders, but allow running applications from these folders. It is even possible to hide the application folder itself using Hide method.
"Lock" - protected files or folders that are visible but inaccessible.
"Hide & Lock" - protected files or folders will not be visible to a user and it will be impossible to access them.
"Read only" - protected files and folders can be accessed, but no modifications to them are allowed.
"No protected" - files and folders remain unprotected.
The program is password protected and it is impossible to access the protected files without the correct password. If someone removes Hide Folders 2012 application folder, the files will be still protected. The program enables users to protect files by masks (e.g. protect only images and movies). A user can assign programs which can access protected files as if they were unprotected. This option is called Trusted Processes and it is useful for backup purposes (backup programs are unable to backup protected data unless they are listed as trusted processes).
Hide Folders 2012 is always available by a hot key (Ctrl+Alt+H by default, can be changed anytime). It is also possible to assign a hotkey, to enable or disable protection with sound confirmation of this action.
Hide Folders 2012 is a multilingual software - its user interface supports different languages and can be easily translated into new languages. The program supports national language characters in file and folder names.
Finally, the intuitive user interface powered with modern skins makes Hide Folders 2012 comfortable to use for both novice and expert users.
