3rd Biomass Pellets Trade Asia tracks latest technology, markets & more in Asia's biomass sector

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug. 14, 2012 - In a move to pursue the vision of “low carbon, green growth”, the South Korean Government is channelling its effort towards the utilization of domestic new and renewable energy to minimize CO2 emissions. Similarly, Japan and China too have recognized biomass and wood pellets from agriculture and forestry residues as sustainable sources of green energy production. At present, even though facing a competitive supply of wood from Canada, US and Australia into North Asia, Southeast Asian countries, namely, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Indonesia are main sources of agricultural biomass.

On 12-13 September, several eminent experts will convene in Seoul at the 3rd Biomass Pellets Trade Asia to review the market demand, supply, technology, and current and future prospects of biomass energy in North Asia. A Senior Official from the Ministry of Knowledge Economy will deliver the Opening Address, to mark the opening of the event.

Themed “Feed-in Asia’s Demand for Wood Pellets & Biomass for Power & Heat”, the 1.5 day conference spotlights on vital subjects such as analyzing the drivers accelerating North Asia's demand for biomass in power Generation & CHP, clarification on FIT and Renewable Portfolio Standard in Japan, South Korea & China, information on securing wood pellets & agro biomass supply from Southeast Asia (Palm Kernel Shell (PKS), Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB), Palm Pellets, Sugar Bagasse, etc), outline of pricing, sustainability, shipping and economics, insight on making viable investment in pellets production OR Bio-Power Generation, analysis of torrefaction technologies in Asia, examining the prospects of executing large-scale biomass co-firing & CHP, and the advantages of utilising biomass in Industrial Power/Cogeneration Plants.
