Aug. 14, 2012 - PRLog -- How many borders need you cross to “Know No Borders”? James Stauber and Joe Bednarik are embarking on a journey to find out. They invite folks, via social media, to follow them.

Starting October 1st 2012, they venture a road trip across the Americas, beginning from Midwest Chicago Illinois, extending to the top of North America, then southbound through the Continental United States, and all the way to the bottom of South America. They expect the entire journey to take at least four months.

Mr. Stauber and Mr. Bednarik are setting out on this expedition to erase manmade boundaries as they progress across cultures and landscapes, Mr. Stauber says. It also is to inspire the sense that you can go after your dreams, and that limitations are imaginary.

Here is more information about “Know No Borders,” the adventures the hosts are anticipating, and how folks will be able to follow the journey.

Transportation – the Trans-American van
Mr. Stauber provided a Chevy Astro van that was used for his contracting company. Mr. Bednarik is a mechanic, and he transformed the van specifically for this expedition.

The undercarriage and drive train were tuned to make the vehicle off-road ready and the interior was redesigned into a very small living/sleeping area featuring a bed, a heater, a mini fridge, a power inverter and plenty of storage space.

The van will serve as their overnight accommodations during most of the expedition. “We’re going to drive it throughout the entire journey,” says Mr. Stauber, “Except from Panama to Columbia. Then we’ll take a car ferry.”

Packing and planning for an active and inspiring journey
The two gentlemen are musicians, and they know how to cut a rug. They will bring two guitars, and shoes for dancing.

They anticipate senoras in Columbia teaching them to dance the Cali-style salsa, and in Buenos Aires, to lead senoras in the tango. They bring the guitars, as they might join jam sessions with musicians they meet along the way.

The “Know No Borders” hosts will pack garb for sizzling hot to icy cold climates, and the balmy to chilly climates in between. They will trek along the polar regions of the Arctic, comb the hot beaches of Guatemala. They will explore pine forests in Canada, and tropical rain forests in Ecuador.
Essentially, they pack to imbibe in the climates and cultures.

They indeed have a specific route, says Mr. Stauber, yet their experiences along the way will weave organically.

You are invited!
“Know No Borders” is an expedition and event. Mr. Stauber and Mr. Bednarik host this via their web site and Facebook page. They will post snapshots, blog posts, and videos along the journey.

They will cover approximately 40,000 miles of the Americas over at least four months. They invite folks to join them via Facebook to follow their adventures and perspectives along the way. Folks are encouraged to comment, offer suggestions, and root for them as they persist.
