New lending fund sees opportunity to eco-capitalize on local real estate market
SEATTLE, Washington (August 07, 2012) – G2B Holdings Inc., a Seattle-based real estate investment and homebuilding company, has launched a new real estate lending fund, Green Canopy Capital, LLC. The Fund had its initial close on the 18th of July and immediately began its lending activities. The firm will continue to raise capital for the Fund throughout the summer.
Green Canopy Capital was created to provide financing for G2B Holdings’ homebuilding activities. As a result of the local banks scaling back construction lending activities, G2B Holdings has created this opportunity for interested investors to help fill the liquidity gap through Green Canopy Capital. The Fund provides a vehicle for investors to invest in energy efficient and green homebuilding projects in neighborhoods throughout Seattle, without lifting a hammer. Additionally, Green Canopy Capital will help G2B Holdings increase its homebuilding footprint in the Seattle market.
G2B Holdings’ mission is to inspire resource efficiency in residential markets. The company accomplishes this by buying in-city fixer homes, beautifully rebuilding them and measuring their improvement in energy efficiency and sustainability. The G2B team has experience spanning across the real estate spectrum, from appraisal and valuation, to acquisition and construction, to banking and sustainable building. Projects range from retrofitting inefficient homes to increasing density through energy efficient infill development on in-city lots.
