Early Registration Now Open For MiCTA Virtual Conference

Aug. 14, 2012 - PRLog -- MiCTA is pleased to announce that early registration for its first virtual members conference is now open.  The virtual conference will feature presentations by MiCTA members and vendors, and will take place in a virtual conference environment.  The date of the conference is Wednesday, November 14, 2012 and is free to MiCTA members.

"For many years, MiCTA distinguished itself by offering member conferences in the spring and fall." said Tim von Hoff, Chief Operating Officer of MiCTA. "The conferences gave our members the opportunity to learn about new technologies, issues that affect them and new vendor products and services. We're delighted to be able to present conference events for our members again in an exceptional virtual environment."

The keynote speaker for this year's conference is Alistair Croll, a noted author and technologist. Mr. Croll, Vice President of CloudOps Research, will speak on virtualization and cloud computing, and its current and future roles in institutions and organizations.  Mr. Croll has founded several startup companies, including Year One Labs and Coradiant, and has authored several books published by O'Reilly Media.

"We're looking forward to reconnecting with our members in this unique environment," says Mr. von Hoff. "The virtual conference allows our members to interact with each other and with our vendors in much the same way they would during an in-person event. The virtual conference environment helps to ensure that members who want to attend may do so, and it also helps our members save money on travel and personnel costs."

The conference is open to MiCTA members at no cost. MiCTA members may register for the event now by visiting the MiCTA website at http://www.mictatech.org/ and select the 2012 Virtual Conference link under Events.  The first 50 conference registrants will also receive special sneak previews of certain conference presentations, as well as a set of special gifts, complements of MiCTA and its vendors.  All conference attendees will also receive a free e-book of their choice from the catalog of conference sponsor O'Reilly Media.
