Fras-le Announces its Results for the 2nd Quarter and 1st Half of 2012

Aug. 14, 2012 - PRLog -- CAXIAS DO SUL, Brazil, Aug. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ Fras-le S.A., listed in level 1 of corporate governance of the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange (BM&FBovespa) under ticker symbols FRAS3 and FRAS4, a Randon group company that is the world's largest manufacturer of blocks (canvas covers for commercial vehicles) and the market leader in Brazil, announces its results for the second quarter and first half of 2012 (2Q12 and 1H12). Except where stated otherwise, the operating and financial information is presented on a consolidated basis and the amounts are expressed in Brazilian reais, in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Issued by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the accounting practices adopted in Brazil. Comparisons are with the second quarter of 2011 (2Q11), the first quarter of 2012 (1Q12) and the first half of 2011 (1H11).

KEY 2Q12 RESULTS
Total gross revenue before consolidation: R$232.0 million, 10.8% higher than in 1Q12 and 15.3% up on 2Q11;

Consolidated net revenue: R$170.2 million, 12.4% up on 1Q12 and 16.8% higher than in 2Q11;
Net revenue from the domestic market: R$91.1 million, a 5.2% increase over 1Q12 and 14.1% up on 2Q11;

Net revenue from the export market: R$79.1 million, 22.1% up on 1Q12 and a 20.1% upturn over 2Q11;

Fras-le Brazil Exports (FOB): US$28.1 million, an 8.1% increase over 1Q12 and a 13.3% decline over 2Q11;

Sales in foreign markets (exports and units abroad): US$41.7 million, 14.0% up on 1Q12 and a 0.9% increase over 2Q11;

EBITDA: R$26.9 million, 68.0% more than in 1Q12 and 37.1% up on 2Q11;

Consolidated gross profit: R$50.8 million, a 41.1% improvement over 1Q12 and 34.0% up on 2Q11;

Consolidated net income: R$6.8 million, a 43.3% increase over 1Q12 and 54.3% down on 2Q11.
