By: Merion Matters The best video award was given to ADVANCE at the NAHCR Image 2012 annual conference, held in Indianapolis, July 24-27 2012, for the video called “9/11: Ten Years Later”, which originally aired on the ADVANCE for Nurses website at: http://nursing.advanceweb.com/ The Jane Pauley Media Award is named after television journalist Jane Pauley for her positive portrayal of nurses and careers in nursing. The award recognizes individuals of the media who most positively portray to the general public contributions made by healthcare professionals. “There are thousands of untold stories and thousands of unsung heroes associated with 9/11. The video reminds us just how many people rose to the occasion, and continue to have an impact today,” said Linda Jones, Editorial Director with ADVANCE. “Because of the breadth of healthcare disciplines represented by ADVANCE communities, we were able to share the memories of a nursing instructor; a PT who was a student at the time; a respiratory therapist who continues to treat victims; and more,” said Jones who accepted the award on behalf of the ADVANCE production team lead by editor Stacey Miller.
