Over the past year, CGHS teachers who were interested in exploring the benefits of students using the iPad were involved in a voluntary initiative to integrate iPads into classroom instruction. The school hosted professional in-service workshops for its teachers, and invited other archdiocesan schools to participate. CGHS provided each of its teachers with an iPad to the potential of iPad enhanced education.
After much thought, research and discussion, CGHS administration decided to move from iPad carts to 1:1 deployment of school iPads in the classrooms for the 2012-2013 school year. CGHS, which has a 3-year lease agreement with Apple, is pleased to provide the iPads at no additional cost to parents for the 2012-’13 school year.
“It’s very important to us at Cardinal Gibbons to offer our students every available opportunity to achieve their potential as lifelong learners,” said CGHS Principal Paul D. Ott. “By providing an iPad to each student and teacher in the classroom, we feel that we are giving our students a distinct learning advantage and leading them into the future.”
