Women make significant effort to look prettier and sexier and can be deeply offended when anyone, regardless of relationship or significance, makes an unwelcome comment. Their pride and sense of femininity is damaged and it often takes time to heal the wounds. Women pay a huge price to look good: suffering painful treatments, spending countless hours and dollars in salons. Thousands women have posted stories about their insecurities and offensive comments on Fmylife.com

Every post mentioned comes from Fmylife.com, which provides a forum for people to share and accept daily misfortunes. Stories related to women’s bodies are among the most common. The women who decide to share their #FML stories use the blog as a way to acknowledge and move beyond their situations rather than suffering alone.

Out of 77,000 stories submitted related to women’s bodies on Fmylife.com, three major categories emerge:

• Weight (42%)
• Smell (37%)
• Hair (21%)

Weight
64.1% of American women are overweight or obese. This explains why 73% of the American female population claims to be on a diet, taking supplements and getting routine exercise. For many women this is an ongoing cycle that starts in the pre-teen years and continues throughout their lives.

Today, at lunch I ordered a coke. The waiter replied "diet coke?" and I corrected him saying, "No, regular coke." He shook his head and said again, "diet coke." FML

Today, when my mother-in-law told me I was losing weight, my husband started laughing. FML

Today, I finished the first month of a diet and exercise program designed to help me lose weight. To keep myself motivated, I have avoided the scale the entire time. I weighed myself today. I've gained 6 pounds. FML

Today, it's decided, I'm going on diet. For real. But I said that yesterday. And the day before. FML

Today, when done feeding my newborn, I stated to my husband that I'm a cow. He said, in a sincere tone, "Oh, baby, you'll lose the weight soon." I meant cow because I'm producing so much milk. FML

Hair
The modern American woman has no underarm, pubic or leg hair. 97% of American women shave regularly and 11% of them do it everyday. On average, American women shave 12 times per month. Hair removal has an important place in women’s lives, with many seeking longer lasting treatments like waxing and laser hair removal.

Today, I attempted to wax my "lady area". It hurt more than losing my virginity. FML

Today, I got my eyebrows waxed for the first time in a few months. Once she finished, she handed me the mirror and asked, "How does it feel to look human again?" FML

Today, I went to get my underarms waxed. I'm usually not self-conscious because I figure they see worse stuff all the time. When I raised my arm for her to wax my armpit she looked at me, laughed and said "Well I guess that's how I know it's winter in Wisconsin!" FML

Today, My boyfriend gave me a gift card for $32 to a local salon. I thought the amount was kind of random, but when I went in I saw that the bikini wax was $32. FML

Today, I shaved my legs for the first time in three weeks. It took half an hour, three disposable razors, and I cut my legs up so badly they look worse then they did when they were hairy. FML

Today, I realized that I hadn't shaved in so long that when the wind blew, the hairs on my legs moved in the breeze. FML


Smell
It is a fact that smell is a critical factor in creating attraction between two people. Women use perfume to increase their power of attractive force. However, nobody reacts the same way to an odor and it is quite difficult to judge one’s own smell.

Today, I noticed that when I sweat I smell like bacon. I'm a vegetarian. FML

Today, I think my friends were trying to tell me something with all my Christmas gifts being mostly perfume, deodorant, and soap. FML

Today, I was walking in Walmart with my dad. We walked past the deodorant aisle. My dad said, "Need any deodorant?" I said, "No thanks." He replied, "That was a hint." FML

Today, my boyfriend told me I smell like his grandma's house. FML

Apparently many women find out from others that they don’t smell nice. More than 85% of the posts are related to comments made to the author by others.
