PRLog (Press Release) - Aug. 13, 2012 - Tustin, CA – Special education teacher Ms. Kelly McKenzy Watson, who is accused of engaging in unlawful sexual behavior with a former student, retained the “AV Rated” criminal defense law firm of Wallin & Klarich to defend her against allegations of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor (California Penal Code Section 261.5). Case CD242497.

“Our law firm has been successfully defending teachers falsely accused of sexual misconduct with students for over thirty years. From our preliminary review of the information available, it is 100% clear to us that our client has committed no crime. All it takes for a school teacher to be accused and have his/her face splashed all over the media is for one police officer to decide to arrest the teacher. Luckily, one police officer doesn’t get to decide guilt or innocence. We are fortunate to have a justice system where Ms. Watson (and any individual who is accused of a crime) is presumed innocent unless the contrary can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. Ultimately, when the facts of this case are revealed, it will be clear that Ms. Watson has been falsely accused. When this occurs, the media is encouraged to publicize her exoneration as quickly as they have publicized her unfortunate arrest,” emphasized attorney Paul J. Wallin, Senior Partner of Wallin & Klarich.

Ms. Kelly McKenzy Watson was arrested for allegedly engaging in unlawful sexual conduct with a former student from the New Haven residential facility in Vista, California. Ms. Watson currently teaches at Oceanside High School, and she is out of custody assisting Wallin & Klarich in her defense. Additionally, Ms. Watson’s arraignment is scheduled for August 20, 2012 in the San Diego Superior Court.

In the meantime, please respect Ms. Watson’s privacy and make no attempts to contact her or her family. If you have information regarding this case, or you would like further details about this matter, please contact Wallin & Klarich at (714) 730-5300 or by email at pjw@wklaw.com.
