Les Trois Chaud New EP Out Now On Mint 400 Records

Aug. 12, 2012 - PRLog -- French for 'The Hot Three,' Les Trois Chaud will surprise and delight as they transport listeners to another place and time: a time when music was familiar, comfortable, and cherished.

Part folk, part old country, sprinkled with ska and punk influences, Songs of Home Volume 1 is a robust blend of sweet harmonies and palette-cleansing melodies. Proud to be from and make songs about New Jersey, this trio will toss common stereotypes out the window the moment the music starts. Les Trois Chaud is composed of seasoned members of the New Jersey punk/ska/indie scene.

Michael Ambrose, guitarist, singer, and writer for Les Trois Chaud describes his background, "we all grew up going to and playing basement shows and VFW halls so crowded and intense, if we were lucky, the ceiling condensation would rain down on us and cool us off a bit. We didn't care it was an amalgam of the sweat of hundreds of kids. These were our people anyway. This was our passion." Michael Ambrose has since become a staple in 'the Scene,' hailing as member of Hub-City Stompers, the Pietasters, Tri-State Conspiracy, Bigger Thomas, and has toured nationally as the organ/keyboard player for the English Beat. He has also played on two records released by The Ergs!, and formed a band with and cut a record produced by Lynval Golding of The Specials. He has shared the stage with The Toasters, Jackson Browne, ABC, Pauline Black of The Selecter, The Aggrolites, The Gin Blossoms, Collective Soul, and many more.

"This band started when I most needed a change. It's a departure from my former work. It's not so much influenced by ska, or any music genre, really. It's influenced by my personal experiences. This record is an exhalation of my soul. How do you categorize that? I'd love to know," Michael says as he describes Les Trois Chaud's first release, Songs of Home Volume 1. Michael continues, "I asked Erin Hays to be a part of my new project because she possessed the talent, vision, and the calming presence I needed at the time." Erin Hays, also a seasoned member of the NJ 'Scene', has been in numerous pop-punk and indie bands for more than a decade including Full of Fancy, whose records were released by Don Giovanni, and has shared the stage with Ghostface Killa, Lemuria, Screaming Females, Rainer Maria, Moldy Peaches, onelinedrawing, and Owen.

Les Trois Chaud released their first album, Songs of Home Volume 1, on Mint 400 records digitally in June 2012 with a special-edition limited vinyl release to follow in late summer.
