 Del Monte Shopping Center to Hold 3rd Annual “Music on the Mall” Series

August 2012. Monterey, CA. Come out to Del Monte Shopping Center every Saturday night during the month of August from 5:00 PM – 7:00 for the 3rd Annual “Music on the Mall” series. Enjoy free outstanding live musical performances by such local artists as Entourage (August 11th), Bornia Blues (August 18h) and Chicano All-Stars Band (August 25th).  Come early to shop at your favorite stores and stay after the concert and dine at one of the fine restaurants at Del Monte Shopping Center. The Bornia Boys Blues Band is a collection of stellar musicians, unified by their common passion for the original blues legends. The band was formed to pay tribute to the early blues music that has influenced so many musicians around the world and helped shape the sound of music today. Their commitment to honoring the blues as an original, American art form, with the elements of honesty, warmth and humor intact, is truly inspiring. Although they have only been together for a few years, they have quickly developed a sound that is both rooted in the traditional and uniquely their own.

Chicano All-Stars Band (August 25th)

The Chicano All Stars is a complete eight piece band based on a great mix of Latin Rock, Old School, Classic Rock & Roll and Santana tunes. The band has performed at various clubs and festivals in Monterey County and surrounding area. The band has performed with many famous musicians and bands, such as Tierra, Malo, El Chicano, Tower of Power, and Jorge Santana with Suave. The Chicano All Stars band members are all professional musicians with years of experience in the music business. Their Latin beats with a strong percussion background and excellent vocals is sure to please a variety of audiences.

Opened in 1967, Del Monte Shopping Center is a Monterey landmark that features among others: Whole Foods Market, Century Theatres, Macy's, Apple Store, Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonoma, Coldwater Creek, H&M, Forever 21, Lucky Brand Jeans, Banana Republic, Chico's, White House│Black Market, and Victoria’s Secret.  Restaurants include California Pizza Kitchen, P.F. Chang's China Bistro, Islands Fine Burgers & Drinks, LALLA Grill, Yama Sushi Bar & Restaurant and a mix of locally-owned specialty shops in an outdoor garden setting.  The 675,000-square-foot Del Monte Shopping Center, located at Highway 1 and Munras Avenue, now has two charging stations available for use in the center parking lot located near the escalators in the north parking lot.
