Fugro exhibiting at EPAM 2012 pavement assessment conference

Fugro will be demonstrating its capabilities in pavement investigation and highways asset surveys as a sponsor and exhibitor at EPAM 2012 (European Pavement and Asset Management conference).

Aug. 10, 2012 - PRLog -- Held every four years, EPAM takes place 5–7 September 2012 in Malmö, Sweden. It showcases the latest research and developments in road infrastructure asset management in a diverse programme of papers by leading highways experts plus allied exhibition.

Fugro is a leading international provider of road network pavement and inventory surveys, and related data consultancy. At EPAM, Fugro highways experts will be on hand to explain the state-of-the-art capabilities of the ARAN platform for surveying a range of surface and sub-surface pavement parameters to meet both statutory and client-specific requirements. The design uses advanced multiple data-stream technology to collect information on road geometry, longitudinal profile, transverse profile, cracking, texture, as well as forward-facing video and ground penetrating radar (GPR) to determine the pavement structure.

ARAN survey vehicles have been accredited or approved by road authorities and government agencies across the globe, most recently by TRL to undertake annual network condition (SCANNER) surveys in the UK. As part of major contracts to deliver pavement surface condition data and build an inventory of pavement structure for the State of California Department of Transportation, ARAN vehicles collected GPR from some 82,730 lane kilometres of road network, the largest survey of its type yet undertaken.

Fugro is a global specialist in the collection, processing and interpretation of data related to the earth's surface and sub-surface. It provides geotechnical, survey and geoscience services, conducted onshore, offshore and from the air, and related advice to clients primarily in oil and gas, construction, mining and public infrastructure.
