MEDIA CONTACT: Amy Sheppard Date:August 7, 2012 Email:amy@amysaccessreports.com Amy’s Access Reports is a web-based social network that reviews businesses of all types on disabled accessibility and customer service. Launching nearly two months ago, Amy’s Access Reports continues to work on spreading the word. In July, the Good Times Newspaper in Santa Cruz, California published Amy’s Access Reports first media article by Joel Hersch. In the weeks to follow the same article was published in the International Wheelchair Club Daily, an online newspaper by Steve Wilkinson. When asked about the recent media support since her company’s launch, Amy Sheppard responded: “I could not be happier with the amount of support Amy’s Access Reports has gained over the past two months. Being a collective and interactive website, Amy’s Access Reports relies on its members and the information they provide. With the media support they are able to reach potential members and become one step closer to making Amy’s Access Reports a national website for disabled accessibility and customer service”. Amy’s Access Reports takes the different approach to providing accessibility information. There are access guides with information on disabled accessibility throughout the country. Amy’s Access Reports takes an interactive and experience-based approach model to the website. When asked Sheppard said: “Amy’s Access Reports does not established whether or whether not a business is ADA compliant, but focuses on the member’s experience and whether or whether not the business being reviewed was functional for that member”. Because Amy’s Access Reports relies on member participation to become a national information traveling tool on disabled accessibility, the company has decided to have a contest between now and October 2nd. The best review wins a $50 Amazon.com giftcard and the winning review gets featured on the Amy’s Access Reports home page through November 4, 2012. Many people have asked Amy’s Access Reports for suggestions on what to write in their reviews, to accommodate this need the company has added a “Help” page on AmysAccessReports.com. This “Help” page on Amy’s Access Reports suggests questions a person might want to address when writing a review on Amy’sAccessReports.com. Although Amy’s Access Reports’ goal is to become a nationwide informational website, the company is dedicated to supporting local communities. In the past two months, Amy’s Access Reports has been attending community meetings within Santa Cruz and Bay Area Counties and has been invited to tour places to further discuss opinions on accessibility in America as well as become part of community directories in the Santa Cruz County’s library system. When asked, Sheppard said: “The idea of amysaccessreports.com came about because I love to travel and I thought it would be nice to have a website that gives honest and clear ideas of what accessibility really is in America on a community-based, national platform.” It is time to get organized and provide a platform for disabled people to be able to see reviews on accessibility for a business before making the effort to travel there. When a social review site like this first starts, it is a massive effort. The more people that get involved and write reviews of the businesses they visit the more useful AmysAccessReports.com will be for everyone.
