Follow on Google News | Local Artist Donates Works To Sacramento Chapter For National Public Works WeekSacramento area artist D.K. Osorio announced today that four of her works originally made for the City of Davis have been donated to the Sacramento Chapter of the American Public Works Association.
By: The Wallis Group The four hand-painted ceramic tiles were on display at Davis City Hall during the month of May 2012, and show scenes depicting different aspects of Public Works, including the Davis East Area Water tank, a reflective jacket, a water discharge pipe, and a roundabout. As part of continuing outreach, the tiles will be on display at the Sacramento chapter of the American Public Works Association during their National Public Works Week fundraiser. “It was an honor to do this project,” said Osorio, “I want to give recognition to all the Public Works men and women who work hard and give their best to keep cities' infrastructures running smoothly.” National Public Works Week is an annual event in May when more than 28,000 members of the Association, “energize and educate the public on the importance of the contribution of public works to their daily lives”. D.K. Osorio is a self-taught Northern California artist who works mostly with oil paint on canvas. She strives for each project to be unique in technique and style, but is more than happy to accept suggestions for future artworks.
