SNSF & Honda Inaugurate First Two Wheeler Mechanic Training Centre

Centre To Train 120 Youth Annually As Auto Mechanics For Suitable Job Opportunities

 
PRLog - Aug. 10, 2012 - DELHI, India -- Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India Pvt. Ltd (HMSIL) & SNS Foundation, the CSR wing of Anand Group today jointly inaugurated the first Two Wheeler Mechanic Training Centre at the SNSF centre today.  

This training centre, in its first year of operation, aims to train 120 youth annually in 6  batches  as auto mechanics and thereafter place them in HMSIL  Sale and Service Centres managed by distributors.  These training centre’s are designed to offer a variety of courses to match local job market, varying levels of school education, parental expectations, and aspirations of candidates.

While speaking at the inaugural ceremony Mr. Kazuhiro Yamamoto, Advisor Customer Service, Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India said “For Honda, Service is at the forefront & this initiative in collaboration with SNS Foundation is another step in this direction. We wish all the very best to all trainees & look forward to their association with Honda”

Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSIL) is the technical / knowledge partner in this initiative SNS Foundation's centre’s will evolve as multi-stakeholder partnerships,  with each agency harnessed to collectively synergise their key strengths for the larger goal of preparing youth for job readiness.

In designing the courses all efforts are focused on enhancing employability of young people above 18 yrs, both men and women.

Ms Indira Varadarajan, Director SNSF said  “Multiple skills training courses conducted  under one roof with co-funding support allows for minimising running costs such as rental, imparting common courses such as soft and life skills, financial literacy, spoken English, IT skills. Partnership with the American India Foundation (AIF) has made it possible to ensure appropriate soft-skills training / workplace readiness of the trained youth under AIF's nationwide programme MAST- an acronym for Market Aligned Skills Training”.
