Aug. 10, 2012 - PRLog -- JAR Technologies today announced the release of a major new feature for its award winning WAN emulation series.  The new 'Vrtual Router' feature  allows each physical port on its emulator hardware to act as a virtual router, transforming the capabilities provided and allowing users to simulate network segments with DHCP address ranges.

The Virtual Router technology provides many of the advanced features expected from commercial grade router hardware. On top of standard WAN impairments the virtual vouter feature also provides DHCP for dynamic IP address allocation, ICMP and ARP sub-systems for mixed subnets and trace route abilities. As with all JAR Technologies products this feature is highly configurable and provides exceptional reporting capabilities.

Commenting on the announcement, James Hunter (CTO) explained: "Virtual routing has always been an important feature in our products, but we understand that customers want much more than normal routing that's standard in the industry. Our virtual routing implementation provides a real router in a virtual form, capable of handling all our impairment tools."

The virtual router technology is available as an option on Shamrock Lite and 100/2 units, and as standard on 1000/2 units and above.
