Ms. Gavin plans on discussing the wild cultural scene of Los Angeles in the 1960s, 70s, and 80s, in a fun, entertaining environment. "We're hoping to capture a bit of that DIY aesthetic in responding to the legions of Erica Gavin fans who are literally clamoring to know what it was like to be--not just a Russ Meyer woman--but the Vixen herself," exclaims director Michael Frost. "It's a little difficult for Erica to get out and reach all her fans. She'd love to, of course, but this way we can really reach out. You have no idea how much Erica adores her fans. When they are happy, she's happy."
Widely known as The Vixen from Russ Meyer’s film of outrageous sexuality, Erica Gavin gained international notoriety when VIXEN (1968) received the first ever X-Rating from the Motion Picture Association of America (M.P.A.A.). Soon after, Erica was starring in Meyer’s over-the-top cultural lodestone BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS (1970). Her last major film was Jonathan Demme’s directorial debut CAGED HEAT (1974).
