Redlands Community Hospital Physicians Named to U.S. News Top Doctor List

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug. 9, 2012 - New U.S. News Online Resource Used Independent Peer Review Data to Develop Nation’s Top Physicians and Surgeons

REDLANDS, CA  – Twenty seven Redlands Community Hospital physicians and surgeons have been named as some of the nation’s Top Doctors, according to a new report issued this week by U.S. News & World Report, the nation’s leading guide to top hospitals and physicians.  Last year, 20 physicians on staff at the hospital were named.
   U.S. News joined with Castle Connolly Medical, Ltd., publishers of America’s Top Doctors and other guides, to develop a comprehensive list of physicians and surgeons to help consumers make better health care decisions.
   The goal of U.S. News Top Doctors is to help guide consumers to top area specialists and primary care physicians who can best address their specific medical needs.  This new project differs from U.S. News rankings of Best Hospitals. No physician is ranked in this new survey.
   The list of Top Doctors was comprised from extensive research compiled by Castle Connolly, which has worked for two decades in identifying the nation’s leading physicians. The criteria for the Top Doctor resource was based on nominations submitted by other doctors and reviewed by Castle Connolly’s physician-led research team.
   “It’s important to recognize our medical staff members who were nominated by their peers,” said James Holmes, president and CEO of Redlands Community Hospital. “Each and every one of our medical staff members go above and beyond each day to ensure the best care for their patients and are tireless in their commitment to the community as a whole.”
   No physician can nominate themselves to the list nor can they pay to have a listing.
   Redlands Community Hospital physicians named to the Top Doctors List includes those in orthopedic surgery, general surgery, OB/GYN, internal medicine, psychiatry, radiology, pathology, urology, pulmonology, ear, nose and throat (ENT), pediatric medicine, cardiology, oncology, dermatology and rheumatology.
