HiWay Burger of Delray Beach celebrates the Olympics by hosting a 17 day burger eating marathon

HiWay Burger of Delray Beach is hosting a 17 day all amateur burger eating contest with a cash purse of $1750 being awarded to the top three finalists.
 
Aug. 9, 2012 - PRLog -- HiWay Burger of Delray Beach is hosting a 17 day all amateur burger eating contest with a cash purse of $1750 being awarded to the top three finalists. The contest started on the first day of the Olympics, July 27th and will culminate with the closing ceremonies on August 12th. At the end of the competition, the person who has eaten the most Double Hi Cheeseburgers in 10 minutes will be awarded the gold medal position with a cash prize of $1000. In addition, the silver position will be awarded $500 and the bronze medalist will receive $250.

There are still a few days remaining in the contest and the competition is really heating up! According to Adam Knoblock, General Manager of HiWay Burger, “We have been astonished by the turnout and really expect this weekend be very exciting”. The contest is open to anyone who is not a professional competitive eater nor has won any eating contest in the past 12 months. The contest is located at HiWay Burger, 12 SE 5th Avenue Delray Beach, Florida 33483 and takes place everyday from 2-5 pm.
