The app while in its early evolution stages has been developed to closely replicate the paper maps, which have been produced by Motorcycle-Maps. The app will give the rider access to the entire country.
A couple of the updated features are faster load times, quicker refresh times for rider location, variety of other route highlights for items like Civil War and Revolutionary War campaign routes as well as the ability to temporarily highlight specialty event ride routes.
Motorcycle Maps has been successful with the paper maps with approximately 140,000 being distributed to riders between April 2010 and Map 2012. It is expected that with rider input on routes and businesses that the app network will see similar growth possibly becoming even more popular than the paper map.
The motorcycle riding public certainly has a selection of both paper maps and applications to chose from, each serving a certain niche of that community very well. The difference with Motorcycle-Maps is that in addition to a growing network of highlighted ride routes the main focus is on the growing network of biker friendly mom and pop businesses that support the riding community across the country.

Motorcycle-Maps has initiated a program called “Celebrate America” where businesses can join the network on the app for a reduced rate. These businesses will benefit from the exposure of being on the app as well as through other Motorcycle-Maps media such as the company website and Facebook pages.
