Southern Ocean Chamber awards funding to sponsor seven local programs this fall

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug. 16, 2012 - The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce has announced the proposals selected for funding for the fall grant cycle.  Funding has been awarded to The Pinelands Fourth of July Celebration, Tuckerton Seaport Chriskindlmarkt, United Way of Ocean County's 35th Gala at Sea Oaks, David's Dream and Believe Foundation Crabbin for a Cure, Waretown Thunder World Series Championship, Care to Be Aware Foundation Bluegrass by the Bay, Southern Ocean Rotary Operation Halloween and Zombie Outbreak. These organizations have been invited to send a representative to receive their check at the Southern Ocean Chamber Summer Cool Down Party at the SeaShell Resort and Beach Club on Wednesday September 12.

Recognizing the need to help local events thrive, The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce created a Funding Committee three years ago to field, review and make recommendations to the Chamber Board to sponsor local programming, events and activities. Funding Requests can be submitted by downloading the proper form on the visitLBIregion.com website, under the Chamber section. The Funding Review Committee meets three times a year to discuss proposals that help forward the mission the of the almost one hundred year old regional business institution. Funding for the awards come from monies raised by Chowderfest and other chamber activities.
