CHICAGO, IL, October 2012 – Plus Fashion Week Chicago is partnering with True Icon, which creates beautiful clothing for women in all walks of life, inspired by the belief that every woman is a true icon.

Established in 2009 by Tammy Jones of Madison, WI, True Icon features a unique collection from everyday ready-to-wear garments, to fabulous red carpet evening wear. The collection was created for every woman from every different background, giving women the utmost opportunity to choose the style that suits them best.  

Jones’ creation behind her craft is not only for women to see all the beauty that life has to offer through expressive clothing, but to also see the beauty in the women themselves; the true beauty that every woman should see when she looks in the mirror.

“Fashion forward and the Midwest are two things that are not often mentioned in the same sentence,” Jones says. However, in some of the Midwest’s most undiscovered cities, there is an abundance of talent, but none as fresh and bold as that of True Icon.”

Jones is no stranger to the fashion industry. Since 2007, her talent has catapulted her to some of the hottest runways in the Midwest. She has been featured in “Visions of Venice,” Chicago’s first recognized plus size fashion show, “Fashion Fridays,” and Madison’s own Wisconsin “Fashion Week.” Jones’ designs can be found at the launch of her online boutique, www.true-icon.com.

Upon choosing to partner with Plus Fashion Week Chicago, Jones says that she believes in what Plus Fashion Week represents, that not only plus size women or straight size women are beautiful; all women are beautiful.

“We all know that not everyone is a size 2,” Jones says. “Women come in all shapes and sizes, and I believe Plus Size Fashion Week embraces and nurtures that very concept. I love that they are bold and ambitious in their message to the world.”
