In the episode “Love For Sale,” Bobby is looking for new business opportunities outside of the traditional family-run psychic healing shops. He notices that his son-in-law John is doing very well in the scrapping business, so he decides to learn more from John. They collect some scrap metal and bring it to Gershow’s facility in Brooklyn to get money for it.
They meet Jonathan Abrams, Manager, Gershow Recycling, who weighs the brass scrap for them. Weighing the metal at 248 pounds with the current market value at $2 per pound, they’ve earned $496. When John sees Bobby holding that money, he can see that Bobby will definitely enjoy being in the scrapping business.
“American Gypsies” can be seen on Channel 162 (Cablevision)
