Bar-Top Bandits National Tour Stops in Times Square August 10th
“All-American Outlaws” Bring Rowdy Singing, Dancing Show To Tonic
NEW YORK, NY-- Hold on to your hats, the girls are back in town! The Bar-Top Bandits are blazing through their All-American Outlaws Summer Tour with their latest stop in the Big Apple. The Bandits will perform on Friday, August 10, between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. at Tonic Bar. The ladies will perform a free mini concert in the center of Times Square from 9-to-9:30 p.m; bring your camera! The Bandits recently headlined the women’s party for Brad Hurtado’s Sand Blast Weekend and Big Brothers Big Sisters Casino Night at Asbury Park’s famed Convention Hall.
“I think this is exactly the kind of fresh entertainment Times Square and the greater New York City market is missing, and the Bandits have the beauty and the talent to make this one incredible evening,” said Stephen Daly, owner of Tonic Bar.
Featuring stylized song-and-dance routines performed by professional vocalists and dancers, the ladies perform their sets atop the bar or stage. Stop in for one of their popular “Margarita Mouthfuls,” which lead singer Theresa “The Boss” Fowler will pour directly into the mouths of any eager bar patrons. The Bandits are touring this season in promotion of their latest calendar, the July 2012 – July 2013 All-American Outlaws: The Bar-Top Bandits Calendar! This 12-month glossy-print item features the lineup including “The Southern Belle”, “The Bombshell Bandit”, “The Rocker Bandit”, among others.
“I am thrilled to have the Bar-Top Bandits rock our beautiful bar tops here at the crossroads of the world in the greatest city in the world,” said Tonic’s Director of Marketing and Events Randolph Hernandez. “Having this tour come to Tonic Times Square takes our Friday night festivities to another decadent level of entertainment.”
Co-founders Everett Brothers, 28, and Theresa Fowler, 29, founded the production at a local fundraiser for Iraqi War Hero Brendan Marrocco. "Theresa asked me to come out to support an event at her bar, and by the end of the night the ideas starting percolating between us,” said Brothers, creative producer of the Bar-Top Bandits. “By the next month, I got some of my dancers together and created choreography and Theresa called her singing friends and worked on songs and we just hit the ground running.”
The traveling musical production has an racked up dozens of hours of charity work in its two years of operations, supporting foundations including: The Jed Foundation, Move for Hunger, American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, Hometown Heroes, and Help Us Help Them (a non-profit collecting donations for troops overseas).
“Our in-your-face approach to singing, dancing and liquor sales is something we’ve realized is pretty unprecedented,"
There is a “Best Western Outfit” contest for all cowboys and cowgirls dressed to impress. Prizes include $50 Tonic gift certificates, Estrella Inedit Beer from Barcelona, and other gift bag goodies.
