Simon Tofield, who is the English creator of the Simons Cat animation, recently released a brand new video named ‘Ready, Steady, Slow’ for fans to view. He regularly puts up new releases and the latest has seen the characters getting into the Olympic spirit with a snail race. With a few venturing off into what would be greenery, there are two snails left in the running to win the race, who will win?
Simons Cat is actually based upon Simon Tofield’s real life cat; however it is not actually called Simon. He has more than one cat and has taken inspiration from each of their personalities, although it is mainly based on his named Hugh. To create the animations Simon draws each scene by hand; it takes up to roughly 25 drawings to make just one second of the short films. This is why his fans are often waiting quite a while before the next animation is uploaded.
The recent video is based on the Olympics, which has currently been captivating the attention of the world. Of course it has swept the UK nation especially with it being held in the capital city, London. The world has been waiting for this sporting event and has finally been sprung upon us. To celebrate it in his own way, Simon released the fun video of the gang having a snail race. The race doesn’t exactly go accordingly;
