J Blair Brown is a PR and marketing consultant in Harrisburg, PA. Brown's history includes working alongside some of the region’s most prominent advertising and marketing gurus.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity to work with an established production company such as Rags 2 Riches, as well as a known entertainment figure of Koran Dunbar’s caliber,” she says.
Dunbar is well-known on a national front, having appeared in film and TV, notably on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, and in prominent comedy clubs around the country.
J Blair Brown will implement an immediate action plan via a national campaign, particularly regarding Dunbar’s film Greencastle. An insightful look at rural life through the eyes of a single African American father (played brilliantly by Dunbar), Greencastle illustrates the ups-and-downs of single parenthood as Dunbar’s Poitier Dunning rears his only child (in an impressive portrayal by Dunbar’s real-life son, Aurelius Dunbar) in the rural setting of Greencastle. The film was shot exclusively in Greencastle, PA.
Greencastle has been picked up by several film festivals around the country, notably the Indie Gathering International Film Festival (where it won Best Feature Film) in OH; the Action On Film Festival in CA; the World Music and Independent Film Festival in DC; the Central Florida Film Festival; the Life Fest Film Festival in Los Angeles; and the Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema in Idyllwild, CA.
Greencastle is also up for several prominent awards, including:
Best Screenplay (Koran Dunbar)
Best Director (Koran Dunbar)
Best Cinematography (Jonathan Austin)
Best Actress (Nikki Estridge)
Best Actor (Koran Dunbar)
Best Supporting Actress (Tanya Chattman; Laura Muschelli)
Best Supporting Actor (Quevaughn Bryant; Aurelius Dunbar; Charles Dawson)
