Since 1984, Continue Life has been supporting Pregnant & Parenting Homeless Women in various ways. In 1988, Continue Inn was created in response to the need for housing the many homeless, pregnant mothers left to live in the streets. Continue Inn acts as a safe shelter until pregnancy has ended or other housing arrangements can be made. In 2005, the shelter expanded its services to families with open cases at the Department of Children & Family Services. The program provides support services to these families in a structured environment that helps to keep families intact. In 1995, Continue Inc established Hope & Glory Transitional Housing & Independent Living. This program provides pregnant and parenting women with education, skills in balancing the demands of motherhood with employment, and aid in delivering healthy, drug free babies.
“The ability to read is one of the most important, fundamental capacities of any person,” said e2b teknologies President Lynne Henslee. “Entire realities are built on words; you can’t even hold a thought without using words, and books are among the best ways to equip people with control and power over their language, ultimately strengthening their perceptions and ideas.”
