Aug. 8, 2012 - PRLog -- New Brunswick, NJ – The American Conference on Diversity will honor Edward B. Deutsch, Esq., with the 2012 Thomas D. Sayles, Jr. Humanitarian Award at the Pro/Am Golf Classic on September 6, 2012.

The event will take place at the Mountain Ridge Country Club in West Caldwell, NJ, one of the top 100 historic golf courses in the United States. Aligning with the American Conference on Diversity’s mission of valuing diversity, educating leaders, and promoting respect, the club was founded in 1912 as a result of some community members being denied membership to a nearby country club because they were Jewish.

“We have been a long-time sponsor of this annual event and a long-time supporter of the American Conference on Diversity,” says Michael L. Rodburg, Esq., Lowenstein Sandler PC, and a member of the American Conference on Diversity Board of Trustees. “The American Conference on Diversity Pro/Am Golf Classic not only provides the opportunity for networking with business leaders, but also provides a chance to play on a classic course, all while supporting a great cause.”

Threesomes will play the championship course with a PGA Professional. Hole-in-one wins a cash prize or a golf vacation. The Diversity Pro/Am Golf Classic begins promptly at 12:15 p.m., with a lunch buffet beginning at 10:45 a.m. The outing is followed by an Awards Reception and cookout on the Terrace at 5:00 p.m.

This annual networking event is in tribute to the memory of Sayles, a golfer, philanthropist, and trustee emeritus of the conference.
