One of the main objectives of continuing education is to establish the highest standards for the practice of social work by encouraging licensees to participate in continuing educational activities. With these opportunities, licensees can increase their skill and knowledge obtained from previous education and training.
Professional Development Resources is approved as a provider of continuing education for social workers by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB). Professional Development Resources maintains responsibility for all content and programs. Continuing Education Requirements
Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) can earn 40 hours of board approved continuing education, of which 20 must be clinical.
Licensed Social Workers (LSW) can earn 30 hours of board approved continuing education.
Clinical Social Workers (CSW) can earn 20 hours of board approved continuing education.
Of the required continuing education hours for all licensed social workers, five (5) hours of ethics and three (3) hours of social and cultural competence are required at each renewal every two years.
