Greyish Quartet is a four-piece modern band led by Dave Grey. They came to Blackdown for a full album. Greyish Quartet tasted success with their first album “The Dark Grey Room” which turned to be a national rage.
Greyish Quartet was also nominated for the Grammys 2011 and for the regional ‘Nee-How” awards. The Greyish Quartet has released its latest album ‘The Dark Red Door” which is already a chartbuster. While Greyish Quartet can be classified as a contemporary jazz band, but the incorporation of a saxophone makes it unique. This group can perform in a variety of styles such as romantic, ballads, pop, rock etc.
Blackdown has established this brand in the industry by giving its music an ethnic and surreal feel with live instruments. Along with the Quartet, Elvis Heisman, a legend in the jazz industry, will also be performing some of his tracks at Enigma 2012.
The Quartet’s lead singer Dave had this to say about Blackdown Studio, “Working at Blackdown was delightful. Matt & Leo’s combined understanding and knowledge not just added to the effectiveness of the entire venture, but also to the suppleness of the creative process. The gear and the studio arrangement are great.”
He added, “They had the correct mic for all jobs, and diverse answers to any possible trouble that might arise. Their real specialty, though, is the post-recording phase. Matt & Leo have a magnificently melodic and understanding ear when it moves toward the mix facet of a session. It was very significant for us that the general sonic class and nature of the melody was preserved.’
