Aug. 7, 2012 - PRLog -- THE LUCILLE AND EDWARD R. ROYBAL FOUNDATION JOINS EFFORTS WITH THE LATINO DIABETES ASSOCIATION TO CREATE A SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY GARDEN TO EDUCATE THE COMMUNITY ON HEALTHY EATING

WHEN: Friday August 10, 2012, from 6:30pm - 9pm

WHERE: The Lucille and Edward R. Roybal Foundation 5253 E Beverly Blvd., East Los Angeles, CA 90022

WHO: The Lucille and Edward R. Roybal Foundation, Latino Diabetes Association, California Center for Public Heatlh Advocacy and San Garbiel Valley Conservation Corps

WHY: For the Community Ground Breaking Ceremony of the Lucille Beserra Mother Garden in honor of Lucille Beserra Roybal’s work in the community and the nation. Our vision is to create a sustainable community garden that educates and serves as a source of nourishment and connection for the community. The Lucille Beserra Mother Garden will integrate urban farming, art and education in East Los Angeles. The Lucille Beserra Mother Garden will serve local residents who many times do not have access to quality, organic, and sustainable fresh produce.
