The story tells how Marcus and his mother witness an amazing rainbow in the sky. As the colors begin to fade Marcus’ mother assures him that he will see many colors in other things that surround him. What will they find on a trip to the grocery store? Will the fruit and vegetable aisle reveal varieties of color that will excite and enchant Marcus? What else can they find in the store that will offer a range of hue?
Colors of the Rainbow provides not only a lesson in joyful observation but shows children the connection between nature and the daily world in which they live.
About the Author: Donna E. Warren is passionate about furthering children’s creativity. She taught kindergarten for twenty-five years and is a certified daycare director. Her inspiration, she says, comes from her “zeal for teaching and her students’ zeal for learning.” Donna has been married to her husband, John, for forty-three years and they have two daughters and granddaughters. Prior to Colors of the Rainbow, Donna published four inspirational poetry books. Donna, who grew up on a 100-acre farm in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, currently lives in Texas City, Texas.
