SS Rendezvous crew member, Charlotte Maundern prepares to welcome guests
The idea is the brain child of hotel owner Karen Weaving, who wants to offer a fun and memorable experience to guests visiting the eighty-room, canal-side hotel over Christmas and the New Year.
The award-winning hotel is hosting a range of cruise-themed dining experiences and festive celebration packages in three of the hotel’s individual dining spaces, including fine dining with the captain in the waterside conservatory and restaurant, accompanied by the hotel’s resident pianist and vocalist.
The nautical theme will also extend to resident guests with “Cruise and Stay” packages which include a choice of “staterooms”
Karen, who runs the hotel with husband Malcolm, said, “This Christmas and New Year we want to offer guests something different to the usual festive packages offered by many hotels. The Rendezvous is the largest hotel in Skipton and we felt our canal-side restaurant, ballroom and spacious reception areas were perfect for embracing the cruise theme”.
“With its award-winning high street, compact town centre, waterways and castle, Skipton has much to entice visitors over the Christmas and New Year period - it is a perfect base for guests wanting to explore the town’s popular Yuletide Festival and Christmas Market, the Dickensian Festival at Grassington, nearby Bronte Country and the many delights of the Yorkshire Dales”, she added.
Earlier this year the Rendezvous picked up the silver award in the “Best Individual Hotel for Groups” category at the National Group Travel Awards.
