Prior to creating any plan, your therapist at FlexPlus will carry out some introductory assessment to determine the stage of your frozen shoulder. A therapy will then be made specifically for you, with various techniques for different stages.
In the first stage of treatment, your loss of motion is not complete. Your shoulder will ache often, and hurts even more when you move it. In the second stage, movement is largely limited. In the third stage, the pain increases and your range of motion is further inhibited. Finally, in the fourth stage, your shoulder starts to thaw. The pain decreases, and your range of motion expands with the easy and effective Therapist Physical exercises at FlexPlus.
The goal of your therapist physical at Flex Plus is just not to increase your range of motion but reduce your pain. Towards the end, your therapist will apply heat and ice packs prior to every session of stretching. This will help your muscles to relax. Your therapist will also prepare a home exercise regimen for you to practice at home. If your pain is unbearable, your therapist might prescribe an injection of pain medicine into the affected site.
Many people carry the idea that the sessions with the therapists are a painful experience. However, if one can gather oneself and visit the therapist, you will be surprised how compassionate and gentle the therapists can be. At the beginning, the goal is necessarily not to set motion as quickly as possible, but your therapist will focus on reducing your pain and the then increasing you mobility. As you continue to heal, your Therapist Physical will help you increase your motion.
