Emerging Local Leaders Complete National Leadership Institute Jacksonville, FL – Kevin Carrico, Vice President of Operations for the Clara White Mission; Melanie Messer, Director of Development for the Jacksonville Speech & Hearing Center; and Kelvin Williams, Director of Field Service and Chief Operating Officer for the Boy Scouts of America North Florida Council were three of fifteen selected from a highly competitive pool of Jessie Ball duPont Fund’s eligible organizations to participate in its 3-day Developing Excellence in Leadership Institute, held in Warrenton, VA. The workshop, led by Georgetown University’s Center for Public & Nonprofit Leadership, focuses on building the capacity of emerging leaders with sessions on understanding individual work styles, setting goals, and motivating others. The Leadership Institute represents fifteen organizations from diverse sectors within the nonprofit field. The Jessie Ball duPont Fund is a national foundation which provides grants to more than 330 eligible organizations identified by Mrs. duPont in her will. The Fund has assets of more than $264 million and has awarded more than $318 million in grants since 1977.
