Norwegian indie rock duo Monkeybird releases debut single 'Born to Roam' – Sept. 21st, 2012

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug. 5, 2012 - Norwegian duo Monkeybird will release their debut single 'Born to Roam' on Sept. 21, 2012. This digital download and limited edition 7” vinyl release features the two tracks BORN TO ROAM and RELEASE. The vinyl edition will be pressed on high end DMM virgin vinyl and cut at 45 rpm for maximum fidelity. Each copy comes with an exclusive DIGITAL DOWNLOAD, so you can rock it on your iPod or whatever other music-playing device suits your fancy. Strictly limited to 300 copies worldwide and housed in stunning cardboard sleeves.

Drawing from a wide range of influences, including songwriting greats such as NEIL YOUNG, SPARKLEHORSE, FLEETWOOD MAC and TOBBEN & ERO (the Norwegian equivalent of Simon & Garfunkel), Monkeybird serves up an appealing blend of pop, rock, blues, psychedelic rock and jangly lo-fi pop, with a sprinkling of country and folk thrown in for good measure.  

The single was recorded and mixed at BRYGGA STUDIO in Trondheim, Norway. Recognized as being one of Norway’s top recording facilities, Brygga Studio has been home to a number of prominent bands, including Norwegian prog-rock masters MOTORPSYCHO, ISRAELVIS, MOUNT WASHINGTON and THE INTERNATIONAL TUSSLER SOCIETY, to mention a few.

Monkeybird is: Dan Slettevolden (singer/songwriter, founder of Polarfox Records) along with Paal André Brekkaas (sound engineer, producer and multi-instrumentalist).
