PRLog - Aug. 4, 2012 - Listeners will visit Quiet Valley Ranch today at 3 pm (ET) when Internet radio powerhouse Cult Radio-A-Go-Go! will air the documentary "One Song at a Time: Tales from the Kerrville Folk Festival" on the third edition of "The Joe Bev Experience" - part of "The Joe Bev 3-hour Block" airing every Saturday, starting 1 pm (ET) / 10 am (PT) at CRAGG.

The weekly radio anthology hour presents a different aspect of the diverse audio career of Joe Bevilacqua (Joe Bev).

On the Saturday, August 4th show, Bev presents his audio portrait of The Kerrville Folk Festival, part of "The Joe Bev 3-hour Block" airing every Saturday, starting 1 pm (ET) / 10 am (PT) at cultradioagogo.com.

Founded by Rod Kennedy, the Kerrville Folk Festival has run annually since 1972. It is the longest continuously running music festival of its kind in North America. For 18 straight days and nights each May and June, over 30,000 guests come from all over the world to experience the magic of what we simply call “Kerrville”. The Festival is known internationally as a Mecca for singer songwriters of varying musical style. It’s a place where those just developing their skills have the opportunity to play their music along- side master craftsmen.

Over 1500 outstanding singer-songwriters have been presented on the Festival’s stages since the beginning. More than just a “folk music” festival, Kerrville offers music of many styles including traditional folk, bluegrass, acoustic rock, blues, country, jazz, and Americana. The common thread is songwriting. The focus of the festivals is to promote emerging artists while giving our audience exposure to both new and recognized, seasoned talent. Major label artists such as Lyle Lovett, Willie Nelson, Michelle Shocked, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Robert Earl Keen, Lucinda Williams, and Nancy Griffith played Kerrville early in their careers. Through the years, the Kerrville stage has seen other nationally known artists like Peter Paul & Mary, Judy Collins, Janis Ian and Arlo Guthrie, while others such as singer/songwriter/actor Ronny Cox play on our stages any given year.

Joe Bev and his wife Lorie Kellogg camped out at the festival for five days to created this program.

Here is what others are saying about Joe Bev's "One Song at a Time: Tales From The Kerrville Folk Festival" audio documentary:

Amusing, Intimate, Surprising - This is a wonderful, enchanting hour of interesting people and music! ... I really enjoyed journeying from one camp site to the next, hearing the rain storm and floods, the concerts and middle of the night camp fire chatting and songs. By the end, I felt as if I had really visited the Kerrville Folk Festival! A marvelous hour! A treat for the ears!
-Rodney Collins, Public Radio Exchange Listener, Flint, MI - January 28, 2005

Humorous, Personal - I enjoyed listening to the interviews of regular people. Listening to all the sounds. It was almost like being there and at times felt like I was hangin' out with the folks there - SueAnn Sanders, Public Radio Exchange Listener,
Sarasota, FL - February 8, 2005
