This is the first time Ford has offered this Auto-StartStop technology in the U.S. on a nonhybrid vehicle. It already uses it on its hybrid vehicles.
The Auto-StartStop system saves fuel by shutting off the engine of a car when it comes to a stop in traffic or at a red light. According to Ford’s estimates, the Auto-StartStop system will save customers roughly $1,100 in gasoline costs over five years of driving.
Ford anticipates that between 10 and 20 percent of customers buying the 2013 Ford Fusion will choose the model with this option.
Customers interested in learning more about the Auto-StartStop system, the 2013 Ford Fusion or any other vehicle in Ford’s vast lineup can visit Cherokee Ford Lincoln in Alpharetta for more information.
