McAlister’s Deli to Host Check Presentation Event for Make-A-Wish® Alabama

Aug. 3, 2012 - PRLog -- Bessemer, AL – On August 7, 2012, McAlister’s Deli will present a $10,951 check to Make-A-Wish® Alabama at its Bessemer, AL location.  The event will take place at 3:30 p.m. at which time Nora Banks, the Make-A-Wish® Alabama coordinator of external events, will accept the check on behalf of the local charity.  The check is the result of a star campaign hosted this past June at the Bessemer, Tuscaloosa, Northport, Prattville, and Huntsville McAlister’s Deli locations.  During the fundraiser, patrons at the participating restaurants showed support for their local Make-A-Wish chapter by purchasing Make-A-Wish stars which were prominently displayed in the restaurants’ windows. All donations will be used to grant the wishes of local children suffering from life-threatening medical conditions.  
Make-A-Wish® Alabama has been granting wishes locally since 1995.  “With nearly 200 pending wishes in Alabama, we are so excited to have local partners join us in helping children with life-threatening medical conditions have their most heartfelt wishes come true,” says Nora Banks, Alabama Coordinator of External Events.
