The partnership should have a significant impact on the e-cig company’s overall market positioning, and the implications have received press coverage from The New York Times.

The initial stages of the e-cig & digital media partnership revolved around establishing Bloog’s global brand positioning - the company’s ethos that would set the tone for all future marketing and sales efforts. The following excerpt is what the partnership came up with:

With this new direction, guided by Addiction, Bloog endeavors to establish itself as the first “timeless” e-cig in an industry saturated with generic brands, both big and small. According to one Bloog managing partner, there’s very little distinction between brands from the consumer point of view. “We’ve done a fair amount of market research, and nearly everyone we’ve spoken to (unaffiliated with the industry) has a hard time distinguishing one e-cig brand from another.” Furthermore, the data collected from Bloog’s marketing & sales team, suggests that even amongst people who have tried numerous e-cigs, very few can remember brand names.

Bloog, with the help of Addiction, hopes to break the current mold of brand anonymity that the e-cig industry has been clinging to since its inception, by focusing on the lifestyle aspect of using e-cigs rather than the products themselves, Bloog’s alternative marketing approach already seems to be setting a new precedent for the industry, and having Addiction’s marketing expertise to assist, will most certainly generate more brand awareness for Bloog in the coming months.
